Sales Cloud is Sales Cloud again: Salesforce product names after the Agentforce rebrand

The short version

  • In October 2025, Salesforce added "Agentforce" to the names of about two dozen products. Around September 14, 2026, salesforce.com started using the original names again, starting with Sales Cloud.
  • Today Salesforce's own pages say Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Health Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, Nonprofit Cloud and Salesforce Platform. "Agentforce" names the AI agents and add-ons, such as Agentforce for Sales.
  • Separately, on September 3, 2026, Salesforce introduced Core, Advanced and Max editions for new purchases. The name change and the edition change are easy to confuse in quotes.

What happened

The Information first reported the change, and The Next Web confirmed on September 14, 2026 that Salesforce's sales pages had switched from Agentforce Sales back to Sales Cloud and from Headless 360 Platform back to Salesforce Platform. Salesforce did not issue an announcement or explain the change. Since then, Salesforce's product and pricing pages have moved back to the Cloud names across the portfolio. On the Sales Cloud pricing page, for example, the editions sit under Sales Cloud, and Agentforce for Sales appears as an AI add-on.

Who this affects

  • Anyone with a quote, order form or renewal dated between October 2025 and September 2026
  • Admins and trainers whose documentation uses the Agentforce product names
  • Buyers comparing Salesforce editions this year

What to do now

  1. Map the names on your order forms. Contracts signed during the rebrand may say Agentforce Sales or Agentforce Service. The products are the same; note the current names so renewals and support cases match.
  2. Separate the name change from the edition change. Core, Advanced and Max replaced Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 for new purchases on September 3, 2026. Confirm which edition you are on and which one a renewal quote proposes.
  3. Search help articles under both names. Salesforce Help and older blog posts still use the 2025-26 names in places. Searching both saves time.
  4. Update internal docs and training. Change product names in onboarding material and admin runbooks so new hires recognize what they see in Salesforce.

Our take

Nothing about the software changed with the names. The practical risk is in paperwork: renewals quoted on new editions with unfamiliar names can hide real changes in what you get. Read the line items, not the product names.

Questions people are asking

Did Sales Cloud or Service Cloud change when the names changed back?

No product changes were announced with the name change. The reversal is a naming change; new editions (Core, Advanced and Max) were a separate change on September 3, 2026.

Is Agentforce going away?

No. Agentforce is still Salesforce's AI agent platform, and AI add-ons carry names such as Agentforce for Sales and Agentforce for Service.

What is Data Cloud called now?

Data 360. Salesforce renamed Data Cloud to Data 360 in 2025, and its site still uses Data 360, noting "formerly Data Cloud".

Why did Salesforce change the names back?

Salesforce has not said. News reports noted that its spokespeople did not comment.
