Orlando's economy combines tourism with a large professional base. In BEA data, professional, scientific and technical services is the region's largest private sector, with accommodation and food services second. The Orlando Economic Partnership points to the region’s theme-park resorts as major employers, and its list of companies headquartered here includes a resort operator, a casual-dining restaurant company, two vacation ownership and travel companies and a national motor club. A nonprofit health system is headquartered in Altamonte Springs, and an aerospace and defense contractor has run major operations here since 1957.

In a 2023 review, which it revalidates annually, the Partnership named six target industries: advanced manufacturing; aviation, aerospace and defense; digital technology; headquarters and regional offices; life sciences and healthcare; and logistics and distribution. Simulation is a regional specialty: Central Florida Research Park, next to UCF, houses UCF's Institute for Simulation and Training, part of the Team Orlando military modeling partnership. The Partnership also points to NeoCity in Osceola County as a semiconductor manufacturing site backed by federal investment. It also highlights UCF, which national college rankings have placed among the most innovative U.S. universities, and Tech Hub Orlando, a downtown collaboration space.

Retail trade

7.3% of metro GDP

Regional target sectors: Advanced Manufacturing, Aviation, Aerospace & Defense, Digital Technology, Headquarters and Regional Offices, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Logistics & Distribution (Orlando Economic Partnership)

Common Challenges

Common Salesforce challenges in these industries.

Guest data spread across systems

Hospitality companies often hold reservations, loyalty, events and support in separate tools. A single guest view usually starts with integration and data cleanup.

Seasonal service volume

Travel and leisure businesses see demand swing through the year, so routing, self-service and AI assistance need to absorb spikes without adding headcount.

Government and defense requirements

Firms that work on defense programs need careful access controls and clear records of pursuits and contracts, which shape how Salesforce is configured.

FAQ

Salesforce consulting in Orlando: questions.

How can an Orlando vacation ownership or hospitality company use Salesforce for owners and repeat guests?

Think in terms of relationships that last years, not single stays. Person accounts or Data Cloud profiles can unify reservation, ownership and loyalty data from your property and booking systems so service agents see the full history. Service Cloud handles owner requests and maintenance-fee questions, and Marketing Cloud runs pre-arrival and upgrade journeys. Duplicate guest records are the biggest risk in tourism data, so agree on matching rules before connecting sources, or every downstream journey will reach the wrong people.

We're a simulation or defense contractor near Central Florida Research Park. Can we put program data in Salesforce?

Some of it, with care. Business development pipeline, teaming partners and customer contacts usually fit a commercial Salesforce org. Controlled technical data and anything covered by your contract security clauses is different: either keep it out of Salesforce entirely or evaluate Salesforce Government Cloud with your security officer. We design these orgs with clear field-level rules about what users may enter, plus validation that blocks obvious violations, so the CRM never quietly becomes a repository for data it should not hold.

Does Salesforce fit an advanced manufacturing or semiconductor company getting started at NeoCity in Osceola County?

It can, provided the first phase stays focused. A young manufacturer typically needs lead-to-quote tracking, sample and qualification requests, and a forecast the operations team can plan against. Manufacturing Cloud adds sales agreements and account-based forecasting once you have recurring volume customers. Connect Salesforce to your ERP early so quotes and orders share one product catalog. Resist building production scheduling or quality tracking in the CRM; those belong in manufacturing systems, with summaries surfaced to sales.
