A Claude implementation partner is a consulting firm that helps a company plan, configure, connect, secure and adopt Claude, powered by Anthropic, so licenses turn into changed work instead of idle seats. Typical scope: choosing the plan and deployment route, identity and admin controls, connecting company data, building Skills or agents, training and measurement. You need one when the work crosses several systems or carries regulatory risk. A small team using Claude for drafting often does not.
What is the Claude Partner Network?
Anthropic announced the Claude Partner Network on March 12, 2026. In its own words, the network 'provides training, technical support, and joint market development for our partners,' and Anthropic describes partners as 'trusted guides' that help enterprises find where Claude adds value and get started. Membership is free, so membership alone tells a buyer little.
The more useful signal arrived on June 3, 2026, when Anthropic added a Services Track with published tiers. Select requires at least 10 active certified individuals, 2 joint customers in production in the trailing 12 months, and 1 public customer story. Preferred requires at least 100 certified individuals, 15 deployed joint customers and 3 public stories. Global Premier requires at least 1,000 certified individuals, 100 deployed joint customers across three or more regions, 15 public stories and a joint business plan with named executive sponsors. Buyers can look firms up in the Claude Partner Hub directory, which lists tier and lets you filter by deployment surface, engagement type, industry expertise, services offered, budget and office location.
Individual credentials sit underneath the firm tiers. As of July 2026 Anthropic offers four role-based certifications: Claude Certified Associate: Foundations, Claude Certified Developer: Foundations, Claude Certified Architect: Foundations, and Claude Certified Architect: Professional. Exams are proctored and identity-verified through Pearson, and passing candidates receive a Credly badge you can ask to see. Abstrakt Solutions is a Certified Services Partner in the Claude Partner Network, with 12 Claude certifications across the team.
What does a Claude partner actually deliver?
Strip away the slideware and partner work falls into eight areas. A good firm will tell you which ones your project needs and which it does not. The last column is the test: if a partner cannot describe the artifact you keep at the end, the work is probably vague.
| Work area | What the partner does | What you should have at the end |
|---|---|---|
| Plan and route | Compares Team, Enterprise and API or cloud-provider routes (Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Microsoft Foundry) against your security, billing and data needs | A written recommendation with the plan, seat mix and the contract points to confirm with Anthropic |
| Identity and admin | Sets up SSO, domain verification, SCIM and roles; on Enterprise, configures custom roles, model access and spend limits | A configured org plus an admin runbook your IT team can follow |
| Data connections | Turns on directory connectors, authorizes them through your identity provider where supported, or builds a custom MCP server for systems without one | An inventory of every connector, its owner, its scopes and which tools are allowed or blocked |
| Skills and plugins | Turns repeat work (a proposal format, a close checklist, a brand voice) into Skills provisioned to the right groups | Skill files in your own repository, with version history and a named owner |
| Custom agents | Builds agents on the Claude API or Managed Agents when a chat interface is not enough | Source code, evaluation sets and deployment docs in your accounts, not the partner's |
| Security and governance | Maps your AI policy to settings: retention, audit logs, Compliance API, IP allowlisting, inference hooks | A control matrix showing each policy rule and the setting or process that enforces it |
| Training and adoption | Runs role-based training using your own documents and tasks, not generic demos | Training material your team can reuse for new hires |
| Measurement | Sets baselines and reads the analytics dashboard and Analytics API | A scorecard tied to specific workflows, with before-and-after numbers you collected yourself |
Rollout depth varies a lot by company. Our guide to rolling out Claude company-wide covers sequencing in detail, and our guide to MCP security covers the risks that come with connecting data. Both are linked at the end of this article.
When can you do it in-house, and when do you need a partner?
Plenty of companies roll out Claude without outside help. The deciding factors are how many systems Claude touches, how regulated the data is, and whether you have people who have already built with large language models. Use this table as a first pass.
| Situation | In-house is usually enough when | A partner usually pays for itself when |
|---|---|---|
| Chat and drafting for one department | Under roughly 50 users on Team, standard settings, no connectors beyond Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace | Leadership wants measured results, and nobody owns training or measurement |
| Connecting company data | You are turning on directory connectors that individual users authorize themselves | Data sits in an ERP, a CRM with complex sharing, or a homegrown system that needs a custom MCP server |
| Regulated data | No PHI, cardholder data or client-confidential material will enter Claude | You need the HIPAA-ready Enterprise offering, custom retention, inference hooks or Compliance API integration with your security tools |
| Custom agents | Your engineers have shipped LLM features before and own an evaluation process | The agent writes to systems of record, faces customers, or needs an evaluation harness you have never built |
| Engineering rollout of Claude Code | A small team that already reviews every pull request | Dozens of developers, managed settings, MCP allowlists and repository rules to standardize |
| Migration from ChatGPT or Copilot | Few custom GPTs or agents to carry over | Many custom GPTs, shared prompts or Copilot agents need an inventory, a rebuild plan and retraining |
What questions should you ask a prospective Claude partner?
- Which tier are you in the Claude Partner Network, and can we see your listing in the Partner Hub directory? A firm should answer plainly and not inflate its status.
- Who on the proposed team holds Claude certifications, and which ones? Ask for the Credly badges for the people who will do the work, not the firm's total.
- Which deployment route do you recommend for us, and what would make you recommend a different one? A good answer weighs the Claude apps, the API and cloud providers against your data rules and billing.
- Show us a control matrix from a past engagement with client details removed. You want to see policy rules mapped to real settings, such as connector tool permissions and retention periods.
- How do you decide which connector tools are allowed, which need approval and which are blocked? Listen for least privilege and separate read and write tools.
- Where will Skills, code and prompts live when you are done? The answer should be your repository and your accounts.
- How will we measure success, and who collects the baseline? If the answer leans only on vendor-estimated time savings, push for your own time studies.
- What will you not do? Firms that know their limits name them, for example legal opinions on regulatory questions.
- How do you price discovery, build and support, and what happens if scope changes?
- Can we speak with a client whose project resembles ours?
What are the red flags?
- Claims of an exclusive, 'strategic' or ranked relationship with Anthropic. Anthropic publishes the tiers; check them yourself.
- A rollout plan with no identity, retention or connector-permission work, only prompt workshops.
- Bundled license resale with services priced as a percentage of license spend. Licensing and services are separate decisions.
- Agents or connectors hosted in the partner's own cloud account with no handover plan.
- ROI promises before anyone has measured how long your current work takes.
- Product facts that do not match claude.com, such as plan features or prices that are out of date. Claude changes fast, and a partner should be checking the source.
- No answer to prompt injection. Any firm connecting Claude to email, documents or ticketing should explain how it limits what a malicious document can make Claude do.
What does a Claude partner cost?
There are two separate costs: what you pay Anthropic for Claude and what you pay a partner for services. As of October 26, 2026, claude.com/pricing lists Team standard seats at $20 per seat per month billed annually or $25 billed monthly, Team premium seats at $100 annually or $125 monthly, and Enterprise at $20 per seat per month billed annually with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage billed separately at API rates. Confirm current terms with Anthropic for your contract.
Partner services are usually billed hourly or quoted as a fixed fee. Abstrakt Solutions bills $180 to $225 per hour, and we quote implementations as a fixed fee or in phases once discovery is done. We sell services, not Claude licenses. Effort depends on how many departments, systems and compliance requirements are in scope, so we give a written estimate after discovery rather than a price list.
Fixed-fee or phased quotes after discovery protect both sides: you know the number before build starts, and the partner prices against facts rather than guesses. Ask any firm what is excluded from a fixed fee, such as changes to your identity provider or data cleanup in a source system. Our Salesforce consulting pricing guide explains hourly, fixed-fee and phased pricing in more depth, and the same logic applies to Claude work.
How do you keep control of a partner engagement?
- Keep Primary Owner rights in your own organization. The partner works through a scoped admin or custom role, which Enterprise lets you limit to areas such as Libraries or Analytics.
- Require every connector, Skill and agent to have a named internal owner before it goes live.
- Ask for the control matrix, admin runbook and training material as deliverables, written for your staff.
- Schedule a handover session where your team makes a change while the partner watches, not the other way around.
- Agree on a support model in writing: hours per month, response times, and what counts as new scope.
Two client stories show what this looks like in practice: 'Sync Payments brings Claude into Salesforce workflows for recognition and pipeline insights' and 'Abstrakt Marketing Group brings Claude into call intelligence, quality scoring, and sales training.' Both are linked below.
Questions people also ask
Is a Claude partner the same as a Claude reseller?
No. Claude Partner Network membership is about services: training, technical support and joint go-to-market with Anthropic. You buy Claude plans from Anthropic, or Claude models through a cloud provider, and pay a partner separately for implementation work. Abstrakt Solutions sells services only.
How do I check a firm's Claude Partner Network status?
Look the firm up in the Claude Partner Hub directory, which shows its tier and lets you filter by services, industry and deployment surface. Then ask for the Credly badges of the individuals assigned to your project. Anthropic publishes the requirements for Select, Preferred and Global Premier, so you can compare claims against them.
Can a partner help if we already bought Claude Enterprise?
Yes, and this is common. Companies often buy seats first and then find that connectors, custom roles, retention and training need setup before usage spreads. A partner can start with an audit of the current admin configuration and a usage review from the analytics dashboard.
How long does a Claude implementation take?
It depends on scope. Turning on Team for one department is a matter of days of admin work, while connecting an ERP through a custom MCP server or building an agent that writes to systems of record takes considerably longer. Ask for a phased plan with a fixed price per phase after discovery.
Do we need a partner for Claude Code?
Not always. Small engineering teams with strong code review often roll it out themselves. Larger organizations usually want help with managed settings, MCP server allowlists, permission rules and measurement through the Claude Code analytics, because those are set once and affect every developer.
